How to Sell a Business: Screen Buyers
How Buyers Respond
Most buyers respond to your ads by email
Buyers respond to your ads by using a contact form on nearly every site. The buyers must typically submit their name, email, phone number and other contact information to contact you. Most sites do not publicly display your contact information and no sites publicly display your email address – this greatly reduces spam.
While some buyers may call you, most buyers prefer to email. This may be true because most brokers will not speak with buyers unless they have a signed NDA from them. Buyers likely tire of back and forth calls and emails with brokers; as a result, most buyers simply email and ask to sign an NDA. Remember that more than 90% of ads for businesses for sale are being placed by brokers. The way brokers respond to buyers affects the buyer’s behavior.
